Welcome to colorado river ranch
Beneath the vast blue skies and wild mountains of the west, embrace the striking balance between serenity and adventure.
Colorado River Ranch remains spectacularly rustic and rural – a place that speaks of heritage and history and the continual promise of river and earth. Present day, Colorado River Ranch’s focus has been returning the ranch to working status while focusing on protecting it as a natural resource, preserving its agricultural heritage and ranching in rhythm with nature.
The river, tamed by multiple dams upstream, runs peacefully in its course. The breathtaking 1,040-acre ranch is embraced on the west by pastel sandstone mountains of purple and rose hues; backed by the Flattops Wilderness. Pinion and juniper covered red sandstone mountains mark the northern boundary, while the east and south sides feature low hills covered in sage.
Interiors & Amenities
Ranch Headquarters
Consists of the guest bunkhouse, riding arena and horse barn. The bunkhouse has six bedrooms, two full baths and four half baths, two laundry rooms with multiple communal living spaces to relax and take in the breathtaking mountain views. Modern, first-class amenities decorate the legacy ranch, a balanced blend of past and present away from the busy crowds and immersed in the stillness of its surroundings.
Equipped with an extra laundry room for those extra dirty days, the horse barn has a fantastic second story view of the entire ranch and it’s where guests can take in a stunning sunset view (the best on the property!)
Entertainment Barn
One mile away from Ranch Headquarters and steps from the Colorado River is the two-story entertainment barn that includes an upper-level covered patio, a fully stocked gourmet kitchen, two media centers and three full bathrooms. Guests are welcomed to enjoy the outdoor maintained swimming pond, water falls, and bocce ball court. Or enjoy a cocktail and fire up the s’mores around one of the two fire pits on site. Here, elk migrate onto the property on a daily basis, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the wildlife and wilderness of Colorado.

About the Ranch
Colorado River Ranch is a legacy ranch, steeped in historical significance, natural resources and bountiful wildlife. The river, tamed by multiple dams upstream, runs peacefully in its course. Passenger and freight trains lumber through daily while cattle placidly graze the fertile bottom lands that await the next chapter in the ranch’s history.
In 2022, we began raising wagyu cattle and selling the top 1% full-blood wagyu genetics and wagyu beef in an effort to expand healthier meat options packed with vitamins, minerals and proteins to consumers across the United States.
Through careful cultivation, passion and a commitment to the welfare of all our animals, our cattle, horses, poultry and pigs have ample space to roam and feed, access to clean water and air, and safe, healthy and productive feed.

Meet the Ranch Managers
Scott & Jennifer Jones
Ranching in rhythm with nature is the belief that bounds Jennifer and Scott to this land. Both born and raised in Eagle County, they feel lucky to call Colorado River Ranch home for the past 14 years. Their hope to make a meaningful impact on the animals and ecosystems they coexist with; restore the health of the land we all benefit from; and let Mother Nature lead the way.
Jennifer and Scott are raising their two young children Shelby Anne (5) and Sutton (3) – teaching them where their food comes from and the value that comes from a day’s work on the ranch. It’s where they are reminded of the bounty, beauty and resilience of Colorado.
Both Jennifer and Scott are happy to make your experience at Colorado River Ranch memorable. They will assist you in setting up your activities of choice throughout your stay.
